Best Opus Clip Alternatives in 2026: 5 AI Clipping Tools Compared on Cost per Hour, Watermarks and Privacy

阅读约 6 分钟发布于 更新于

Vizard is the best Opus Clip alternative for most people: it bills the same way, per minute of source video, but gives 600 minutes a month at the price Opus Clip charges for 300, and exports in 4K. WayinVideo adds no watermark even when free, Ssemble is cheapest per hour, and Captions suits people already editing in its app.

利益关系说明

None of these five tools is made by the team behind GenGrades, and none paid to be listed. They are ranked on what matters when leaving Opus Clip: cost per hour of source video, watermark and commercial use on the free plan, public evidence on clip quality, captions and reframing, direct posting, and what happens to your uploads; every fact links to its source.

Vizard is an AI clipping tool that finds the highlights in a long video, reframes them to vertical or square, adds captions and lets you edit by transcript before posting. It bills the way Opus Clip does, one credit per uploaded minute, but its Creator plan gives 600 credits a month, takes uploads of up to 600 minutes and exports in 4K. Vizard says it does not train its models on customer videos.

    来源:ssemble.com核对于

Ssemble cuts a YouTube, Twitch, Kick or Vimeo video into captioned vertical clips with hooks and calls to action, then schedules and posts them, and can watch a YouTube channel and clip each new upload by itself. It bills one credit per video, but each run covers at most a 20-minute segment, so a 2-hour podcast takes six runs. On yearly billing it is the cheapest per hour here, with no free plan and no refunds.

    $15 a month (Pro), or $6 a month billed yearly ($72)

Yearly Pro gives 360 video credits a year, about 30 a month. Each credit covers up to 20 minutes: up to 120 hours of source a year, about $0.60 an hour if every run uses the full 20 minutes.

    • No free plan, no trial and, under its terms, no refunds outside EU and UK withdrawal rights; unused credits reset each cycle.
    • Trustpilot 3.3 from 35 reviews, 52% one-star, over refused refunds, annual-plan pressure and scheduled posts that failed.

操作步骤

每一步只做一件事。

  1. Download your clips first

Opus Clip's free clips can no longer be exported after 3 days, and Starter keeps exports for 30 days. Download everything you want to keep before you cancel.

  2. Use or note your remaining credits

Opus Clip's monthly credits expire after 60 days and yearly credits last 12 months; after cancelling they still expire on their original date.

  3. Count your hours of source video

Add up how many hours you clip a month. Per-minute tools suit a few long videos; per-segment and per-clip tools suit many.

  4. Read the free plan's terms

Opus Clip's free plan is non-commercial and watermarked, Vizard's is watermarked, and WayinVideo's has no watermark. Check the terms before posting clips for a client.

  5. Reconnect accounts and rebuild templates

Social connections, brand templates and scheduled posts do not move between tools, so set them up again in the new one.

  6. Run one episode on two free plans

Give the same video to two tools and compare the cut points and captions before paying for a year.

How we ranked these tools

Each tool was placed on what it costs to clip an hour of long video, whether its free plan adds a watermark or bars commercial use, what public reviews say about its clips, its captions and reframing, whether it posts for you, and what it does with your uploads. Every price and limit was read on the maker's own pages on October 25, 2026, except where a card says otherwise. Only tools that take a long video and pick the moments themselves are ranked.

Vizard is first because it bills the way Opus Clip does, so the switch is simple, yet gives twice the minutes of Opus Clip Pro at the same price and has the best review record here. WayinVideo is second for a free plan with no watermark and a plain promise not to train on your videos, held back by prices that could not be confirmed. Ssemble is the cheapest per hour, but has no free plan and no refunds.

What Opus Clip charges today

Opus Clip, which styles itself OpusClip, charges one credit per minute of the original video, not per clip you keep: a 60-minute podcast uses 60 credits even if you keep three clips. Its pricing page lists Starter at $15 a month, sold on monthly billing only, with 150 credits, and Pro at $29 a month or $14.50 billed yearly with 300 credits. The free plan gives 60 credits a month and adds a watermark, and its clips can no longer be exported after 3 days. Opus Clip's terms limit free accounts to personal, non-commercial use.

Some extras cost more credits. Posting a clip to X uses 3 credits per X account, per the same help article, and upscaling one clip cost 23 to 117 credits in Marc Andrews' 2026 review. The API, once for Business customers only, now starts on Pro with limited access. Opus Clip's privacy policy names uploaded videos and transcripts among the content used to improve its products and for AI model development, with an opt-out offered only to users in the EU and EEA.

Per minute, per segment or per clip: what a 2-hour podcast costs

These tools count usage in three different ways, and the right one depends on how long your videos are.

  • Per minute of source (Opus Clip, Vizard, WayinVideo): a 2-hour episode uses 120 credits however many clips you keep. That is 80% of Opus Clip Starter's 150 monthly credits, a fifth of Vizard Creator's 600 and about a quarter of WayinVideo Starter's 500.
  • Per video segment (Ssemble): one credit covers up to 20 minutes, so the same episode takes six runs and six credits. Yearly Pro's 30 or so credits a month cover five full episodes for $6 a month.
  • Per clip (Klap): you pay for the clips generated, not the length of the source, so a long episode costs no more than a short one that yields the same number of clips.

Captions and CapCut do not publish what a clipping run costs.

Which kind of tool you need

  • Dedicated clippers (Vizard, WayinVideo, Ssemble): paste a link or upload, get ranked clips with captions, then post or schedule them. These are closest to Opus Clip.
  • Editors with a clipping feature (Captions, CapCut): clips land in a full editor, which helps if you already edit there, but limits and posting are thinner.
  • Hands-off posting (Ssemble's Channel Automation): it watches a YouTube channel and clips and posts each new upload.
  • Gaming streams: Opus Clip listens rather than watches, so it misses action with little talking, Two Average Gamers concluded from other reviewers' tests. WayinVideo has a separate Game Clipping mode, and Ssemble a Sports Mode that follows the ball.

What public comparisons show

No independent test has run two of these tools on the same video. Nearly every "Opus Clip vs" page is written by a competitor: Ssemble's CEO claims equal clip quality at a fraction of the cost without publishing the videos or method, and BIGVU, which sells its own clipper, reported discarding 20 to 40% of Opus Clip's clips over two weeks. The one hands-on test of a single tool, Marc Andrews' review, ran a 15-minute talk through Opus Clip's free plan and got 21 clips with usable cut points for 15 credits.

User reviews are the broadest signal left. On October 25, 2026, Trustpilot showed Vizard at 4.7 from 2,521 reviews, Captions at 4.5 from 523, Opus Clip at 4.0 from 509, Ssemble at 3.3 from 35 and WayinVideo at 2.8 from 6. Billing, cancellation and refund complaints appear on every one of them.

Other tools we looked at

  • Klap bills per clip, from $14 a month billed yearly for 100 clips, which suits long podcasts. Its privacy policy says transcripts go to OpenAI and other providers through OpenRouter, and video without speech to Google Gemini, and that it does not yet ask for consent before that sharing.
  • Submagic is mainly a caption tool for short videos; its Magic Clips feature for long videos needs a separate subscription whose price is not published.
  • Crayo now leads with clipping, but many of its Trustpilot reviews complain of starter-kit promises that were not kept and refused refunds, and its 2024 terms limit use to personal, non-commercial purposes, which contradicts its pricing FAQ.

这些工具的共同短板

它们还做不好的地方和证据,以及公开测试还没定论的地方。

做得不好

做得不好

  • No independent test puts these tools side by side.

证据: The comparisons that exist are written by competitors such as Ssemble and BIGVU; the only hands-on review found tests Opus Clip alone.

  • Credit rules and plan names change often.

证据: In 2026 WayinVideo moved from 2 credits a minute to 1 and renamed its plans, Captions renamed Pro to Basic and Scale to Frontier, and Ssemble's yearly Pro price fell from $7.50 to $6 a month.

  • The clipping AI follows speech.

证据: Klap says it works best on speech-heavy video, and reviewers cited by Two Average Gamers found Opus Clip misses action in gameplay with little talking.

尚不确定

尚不确定

  • What WayinVideo costs today.

原因: Its pricing page returned HTTP 403 even in a browser on October 25, 2026; the only price found is an undated search copy showing a first-year promotion.

  • How much of the Max plan a Captions Clips run uses.

原因: Captions publishes credit costs for AI Edit and chat edits but not for Clips.

常见问题

先给结论,再讲原因、例子、限制和下一步。

What is the best Opus Clip alternative?

Vizard is the best Opus Clip alternative for most people: it bills the same way, one credit per minute of source, but its Creator plan covers 600 minutes a month at the price Opus Clip charges for 300 on Pro: $29, or $14.50 billed yearly. It also takes 600-minute uploads, exports in 4K and says it does not train on your videos.

Is there a free alternative to Opus Clip?

WayinVideo is the best free Opus Clip alternative if you want no watermark: new accounts get 100 credits once, about 100 minutes of clipping from a link, at 720p. Vizard gives 60 credits a month with a watermark, and CapCut says its Long video to shorts tool is free with no watermark, though it publishes no limits.

What is the cheapest Opus Clip alternative?

Ssemble is the cheapest per hour: $6 a month billed yearly for 360 credits a year, each covering up to 20 minutes of video, about $0.60 an hour if you use full segments. Among tools that bill per minute, Vizard's yearly Creator plan works out to about $1.45 an hour of source.

Is Vizard better than Opus Clip?

Vizard is cheaper per minute and takes longer uploads, but no independent test has compared their clips on the same video. Vizard gives 600 minutes a month for $14.50 on yearly billing and says it does not train on customer videos; Opus Clip has more extras, such as a virality score on every paid plan, AI B-roll and, on Pro, dubbing, and accepts videos of up to 10 hours.

Can I use Opus Clip for free for commercial videos?

No: Opus Clip's terms limit free accounts to personal, non-commercial use, and free clips carry a watermark and expire after 3 days. Paid plans from $15 a month allow commercial use. WayinVideo's free plan has no watermark, but its help centre leaves commercial rights to the user.

Does Opus Clip use my videos to train AI?

Opus Clip's privacy policy lists uploaded videos and transcripts among the content used to improve its products and for AI model development, and offers an opt-out only to EU and EEA users by email. Vizard and WayinVideo say they do not train on customer videos, while Captions and CapCut say they may.
