How a ranking works
Each GenGrades ranking covers one category, a type of tool crossed with a task: AI assistants, writing, coding agents, personal agents, image generation and editing, video generation and editing, voice, transcription, music, and LLM or media APIs. Each category has its own fixed test set, its own rubric and its own weights, and every tool or model on the ranking has run that test set. A ranking shows the weights and the dimension scores, so the total can be recomputed.
