Best Suno Alternatives in 2026: 5 AI Song Generators Compared on Rights, Downloads and Price

7 min readPublished Updated

Mureka is the closest Suno alternative for most people: its V9.5 model ranks third in blind listening tests, just behind Suno's own, and its $10 Pro plan has no download cap. Google Flow Music has the most Suno-like editing for $8, Eleven Music the plainest rights from a licensed model, and MiniMax Music is cheapest at $5.

Disclosure

None of these five products is made by the team behind GenGrades, and none paid to be listed. They are ranked on what matters when leaving Suno: blind-test evidence, commercial rights on each plan, download limits and formats, editing tools, price per song, and licensing deals and lawsuits; every fact links to its source.

Mureka, from Kunlun Tech's Singapore company Skywork AI, makes full songs with vocals or instrumentals from a one-line idea or your own lyrics, with reference tracks, remix, extend and edits to a selected part of a song. Its V9.5 model ranks third in Artificial Analysis's blind vocal arena, behind only Suno's two v6 models, and its paid plans have no monthly download cap.

    Cheapest paid option

$10 a month (Pro), or $8 a month billed yearly

The subscribe page shows $8 a month billed yearly ($96) beside a struck-out $10. Pro gives 5,000 Gold a month, which Mureka puts at up to 500 songs. Premier, $24 a month yearly ($30 struck out), adds WAV, up to 12 stems, MIDI and Mureka Studio.

    3rd for vocals (V9.5)

Elo 1107, against 1147 for Suno v6, on Artificial Analysis's live board.

    Source: artificialanalysis.aichecked

    Good

    • Third in Artificial Analysis's blind vocal arena, the closest any rival comes to Suno v6.
    • No monthly download cap for the same $10 that buys 20 downloads a month on Suno Pro.
    • Premier exports WAV, up to 12 stems, MIDI and DAW sessions, and there is an API.

    Watch out for

    • Independent musicians filed a proposed class action on December 17, 2025, alleging Mureka was trained on their recordings without permission; it has no label licences.
    • The free tier has no downloads, and Mureka's 2024 terms disagree with its FAQ about songs made on free.
    • Its interface closely resembles Suno's, and CloseBox reported people who subscribed to Mureka thinking it was Suno after clicking search ads.

Google Flow Music is Google's AI music studio, formerly ProducerAI and before that Riffusion, which Google bought in February 2026. You describe a song to a Gemini-powered producer, it makes it with Google DeepMind's Lyria 3.5, and you can replace a section, extend it, turn it into a cover, split stems and download MP3, WAV or M4A. The same Lyria 3.5 model makes free songs of 2 to 3 minutes in the Gemini app, without editing and without a stated commercial licence.

    Cheapest paid option

$8 a month (Starter), or $6 a month billed yearly

3,000 credits a month, which Google puts at about 600 songs: about 1.3 cents a song on monthly billing. Starter comes with Google AI Plus; Plus ($24, or $18 yearly) with Google AI Pro.

    Good

    • The most Suno-like editing outside Suno: replace a section, extend, cover, stems, your own audio as input and WAV downloads.
    • About 600 songs a month for $8, and the home page promises unlimited downloads.
    • Runs on Lyria 3.5, the best-placed big-tech model in Artificial Analysis's blind vocal arena; the Gemini app makes quick songs with it for free.

    Watch out for

    • About 3 minutes per generation, against Suno's 8.
    • No page says whether songs made on the free plan may be used commercially.
    • ProducerAI deleted private-beta songs not downloaded by February 19, 2026 when it switched models, and independent artists are suing Google over Lyria 3's training.

Eleven Music is ElevenLabs' song generator. People making songs use it through the ElevenMusic app (elevenmusic.io and iOS), which has its own Free and Pro plans and terms; businesses and developers reach the same models through ElevenLabs' credit plans and API, under separate Music Terms with different limits. It launched with licences from Merlin and Kobalt, added Believe in 2026, and its Music v2.5 model can regenerate one section of a song.

    Cheapest paid option

$9.99 a month (ElevenMusic Pro), or $7.99 a month billed yearly

1,000 songs a month (about 1 cent a song), unlimited downloads, 500 stem splits and release of original songs to Spotify and Apple Music. ElevenLabs' own plans are priced separately, from $6 a month.

Elo 1015, below Suno, Mureka and Google's Lyria models.

    Source: artificialanalysis.aichecked

    Good

    • The plainest rights here: you own your songs, Pro songs need no credit and can go to Spotify and Apple Music, and rights fixed when a song is made survive cancelling.
    • Licensed from launch by Merlin and Kobalt, with Believe added in April 2026; no lawsuit over it was found.
    • Generous limits, and ElevenMusic does not train on your uploads or input unless you opt in.

    Watch out for

    • Mid-table in blind tests: 7th to 9th for vocals, well behind Suno v6.
    • Two products with two rule sets: ElevenMusic and ElevenLabs' plans differ on downloads, rights and limits, and some official pages disagree.
    • 5 minutes per generation, no Android app, and covers of existing songs stay inside the app.

MusicGPT, run by MusicGPT Ltd. of Singapore, is a web AI audio studio that makes songs with vocals or instrumentals and adds remix, extend, section replacement, stem splitting, sound effects and text to speech. It sells the same tools as a developer API with published per-song prices. It is not on Artificial Analysis's music boards, so there is no blind-test placing for its v7 models.

    Cheapest paid option

$11.99 a month (Plus), or $9.99 a month billed yearly

100 songs and 5,000 credits a month on v7 Pro, unlimited MP3 downloads and commercial use. Remix, edit and stem downloads need Pro: $21.99 a month, or $16.99 billed yearly.

    • A documented API with published per-song prices, from $0.035 a song on its API Pro plan.
    • A Trustpilot score of 4.2 from 77 reviews, with frequent praise for support.

    Watch out for

    • No blind-test placing, and its claim to be 'fairly trained on licensed material' names no licensor.
    • The terms do not say who owns your songs and give MusicGPT a perpetual licence to use and train on them.
    • Trustpilot users report yearly charges after choosing monthly; the pricing page offers a 30-day refund only below 10% of credits used, while the terms call payments final.

MiniMax Music is the song generator in MiniMax Audio, from the Shanghai AI company behind Hailuo and Talkie. Its Music 3.0 model writes, arranges and sings a song of up to five minutes from a style description and lyrics, can re-make an uploaded song in a new style, and is released as open weights. MiniMax closed its music API to new users on August 20, 2026.

    Cheapest paid option

    Good

    • The cheapest paid plan here: $5 for about 330 songs a month.
    • Music 3.0 is released as open weights you can run on your own GPU; the licence allows commercial use below $20 million in yearly revenue.
    • Cover mode re-makes an uploaded song's melody in a new genre, and section tags give control over song structure.

    Watch out for

    • Rights are unclear: the plan card, the FAQ and the general terms disagree on commercial use of free songs.
    • No stems, extend or section editing published, and 5 minutes per song.
    • The hosted music API closed to new users on August 20, 2026, and MiniMax has no music licensing deals.

How to do it

Each step is one thing to do.

  1. Spend your Suno downloads first

Download the songs you may release while your plan is active. On Suno, commercial rights attach only to songs downloaded within your monthly allowance, and they last after you cancel.

  2. Check which songs you can use

Songs made on Suno's free plan stay non-commercial even if you upgraded later, and remixes of other people's songs are personal use only on every Suno plan.

  3. Pick by the limit that pushed you away

If downloads were the problem, Mureka, Flow Music and Eleven Music have no monthly download cap on their paid plans. If rights were, Eleven Music's terms are the plainest. If price was, MiniMax Music costs $5.

  4. Test with a prompt you already know

Run the style prompt and lyrics of a song you made on Suno through the new tool's free tier and compare at the same volume. Most rivals stop a generation at 3 to 5 minutes, so test longer songs in parts.

  5. Read the rights page before you release

Check the plan's terms on the day you publish. Several of these services show different rules on their pricing page, FAQ and terms.

  6. Check your distributor's AI rules

Suno, MiniMax and Google mark their songs with watermarks or fingerprints, and Believe and TuneCore said in April 2026 they would block AI tracks from unlicensed platforms. Read your distributor's rules before uploading.

How we ranked these tools

The list ranks what someone leaving Suno usually needs: songs that sound close to Suno's, the right to use them commercially, enough downloads in the right formats, and tools that fix one part of a song without starting again. Each product was placed on Artificial Analysis's blind listening arena where it appears, on what its terms and pricing pages say about rights and downloads, on its editing tools, on its price per song, and on its licensing deals and lawsuits. Every price and rule was read on the maker's own pages on October 25, 2026; where a pricing page showed its prices only in a browser, it was read in one.

Mureka is first because its model ranks closest to Suno in blind tests and its paid plans drop the download cap. Google Flow Music is second for its editing tools and price, and Eleven Music third for its plain rights and licensed model, despite a mid-table blind-test score. MusicGPT and MiniMax Music follow because one has no blind-test placing and the other has unclear rights.

What changed at Suno

Suno changed two things in September 2026. Its new terms, in force from September 3, cap downloads at 20 songs a month on Pro and 60 on Premier, and allow commercial use only of songs downloaded within that allowance. Remixes of other people's songs are personal use only on every plan, and songs made on the free plan do not become commercial when you upgrade. The caps follow Suno's November 2025 deal with Warner Music Group, which settled Warner's lawsuit and promised licensed models and paid, capped downloads.

On September 9 Suno launched v6, built with Warner, BMG and Believe, and retired every earlier model for new songs. v6 tops Artificial Analysis's blind arenas, but many subscribers on r/SunoAI called it muffled and overcompressed, Digital Music News reported. Fewer downloads and a sound some users dislike are the two reasons people now look for a Suno alternative. For the most direct rival in detail, see Mureka vs Suno.

Why Udio is not ranked

Udio was Suno's best-known rival, but since settling with Universal Music Group on October 29, 2025 it has disabled downloads of audio, stems and video on every plan. Its current terms say Udio and its licensors own every song, allow only personal, non-commercial use and forbid posting songs to YouTube, Spotify or TikTok. Udio has licences from Universal, Warner, Merlin and Kobalt for a new service promised for 2026, with no launch date and no blog post since November 19, 2025. Until it relaunches, Udio is a place to make songs and share them by link, not a replacement for Suno. Suno vs Udio compares the two.

Which kind of tool you need

  • Full songs with vocals that you edit and release (Mureka, Google Flow Music, Eleven Music, MusicGPT): these do what Suno does. Pick by the limit that pushed you away from Suno: downloads, rights, editing or price.
  • A quick free song for a birthday or a video: the Gemini app makes songs of 2 to 3 minutes with Lyria 3.5 for adults who keep Gemini Activity on, with MP3 or MP4 downloads and an invisible SynthID watermark. Google's help page offers no editing, stems or WAV, and Google publishes no commercial licence for these songs.
  • Instrumentals, loops and sound effects only: Stable Audio cannot sing, but Stability says its 3.0 models were trained on licensed and Creative Commons recordings, and its Solo plan costs $12 a month.
  • A model on your own hardware: MiniMax's Music 3.0 weights are on Hugging Face; you need a capable GPU and must follow its licence.
  • An API for an app: Eleven Music charges $0.15 a minute and MusicGPT prices per song. Suno has no public API.

What public comparisons show

The only large blind test is Artificial Analysis's music arena, where evaluators vote between two tracks made from the same prompt. On its vocal board, read on October 25, 2026, Suno v6 leads with an Elo of 1147 and Suno v6-mini is second. Mureka V9.5 is third at 1107, Google's Lyria 3.5 fourth to sixth at 1053, Eleven Music v2.5 seventh to ninth at 1015, and MiniMax Music 3.0 is the board's anchor at 1000. The instrumental board has the same leader, with Mureka and Lyria tied behind it. MusicGPT is on neither board, and Udio's last placing, in a September 2 snapshot, was 14th of 15.

Hands-on reviews are older, and several come from sites that sell something. Undetectr, which sells an AI-music processing tool, used Mureka alongside Suno v5.5 for two months and found Mureka better on downloads, structure control, stems and Mandarin vocals, and Suno better on vocal warmth and English lyrics. HookGenius, which has affiliate links, called Mureka the closest rival but gave Suno the edge on natural vocals. ThePlanetTools rated 62 tracks blind in spring 2026 and preferred Suno v5.5 for full songs and Eleven Music for multilingual vocals and its API. None of these reviews tested Suno v6.

Other tools we looked at

These song sites have enough visitors to show up in Suno alternatives searches, but are not ranked here because who runs them, or what they run on, is unclear:

  • SongAI (songai.io): its terms name no company, address or registration number, and its domain was registered in February 2026.
  • MusicCreator AI: its policies name only "MusicCreator AI, Inc." with no address, and its cover tool's demos use the voices of famous singers and cartoon characters.
  • AIMusicGen.ai: its terms name two companies, in Singapore and Hong Kong, that could not be found anywhere else, and say the service runs mainly on open-source models from Meta and Stability AI, while its model picker offers its own V5 to V7 models plus MiniMax and ElevenLabs.
  • Musicful: its terms name CleverGuard Technology with the same company name, addresses and registration numbers that ClevGuard, the maker of the KidsGuard Pro phone-monitoring app, gives in its own terms.

Where these tools fall short

What they still get wrong, with the evidence, and what no public test has settled yet.

Weak

Weak

  • No product here matches Suno v6 in blind tests.

Evidence: On Artificial Analysis's vocal board read on October 25, 2026, Suno v6 scores 1147; the best rival, Mureka V9.5, scores 1107, and Eleven Music and MiniMax sit near 1000.

  • Rights rules are inconsistent across most of these products.

Evidence: Mureka's FAQ and 2024 terms disagree on songs made free, MiniMax's plan card, FAQ and terms disagree on commercial use, ElevenLabs runs two rule sets, and Flow Music's free plan is not addressed.

  • Plans and limits change often.

Evidence: Mureka renamed its plans in 2026, ElevenMusic's limits have changed several times since April, and Suno's download caps arrived in September; every price here carries the day it was read.

Uncertain

Uncertain

  • How each rival sounds against Suno v6 on the same prompts.

Why unsure: The only large blind test, Artificial Analysis's arena, ranks models rather than products and does not list MusicGPT; the hands-on reviews found tested retired Suno versions.

  • When Udio's licensed service launches and what it will allow.

Why unsure: Udio and its label partners promised a 2026 launch without a date, and Udio's blog has no post since November 19, 2025.

Common questions

Answer first, then why, an example, the limits and what to do next.

What is the best Suno alternative?

Mureka is the closest Suno alternative for most people: its V9.5 model ranks third in Artificial Analysis's blind vocal arena, behind only Suno's two v6 models, and its $10 Pro plan has unlimited MP3 downloads. Google Flow Music suits people who edit songs a lot, and Eleven Music suits people who want plain ownership terms and a licensed model.

Is there a free Suno alternative?

Several Suno alternatives have a free plan: ElevenMusic's makes 25 songs and allows 5 downloads a day, with commercial use if you credit it. Google Flow Music and the Gemini app make songs for free within limits Google does not publish. Mureka's free tier makes 4 songs a day but allows no downloads, and MiniMax Music gives about 33 songs a month.

Why did Suno limit downloads?

Suno's terms from September 3, 2026 cap downloads at 20 a month on Pro and 60 on Premier, after its November 2025 settlement with Warner Music Group promised licensed models and capped, paid-only downloads. Only downloaded songs can be used commercially; extra downloads can be bought, at a price Suno does not publish.

Can I still download songs from Udio?

Udio no longer lets you download songs on any plan: it disabled downloads of audio, stems and video after its settlement with Universal Music Group on October 29, 2025. Its terms allow only personal, non-commercial use, and the licensed service it promised for 2026 has no date.

Which Suno alternative is safest for releasing songs commercially?

Eleven Music has the plainest terms: you own your songs, Pro songs can be used commercially without a credit and released on Spotify and Apple Music, and its model was built with licences from Merlin, Kobalt and Believe. Mureka and MusicGPT allow commercial use on paid plans but have no label licences, and Mureka faces a class action over its training data.

Can I bring my Suno songs into another generator?

You can upload a song as audio to use as a reference or remake it as a cover in Mureka, Flow Music, Eleven Music, MusicGPT and MiniMax Music. Suno assigns songs made on paid plans to you but keeps ownership of songs made on its free plan, so only paid-plan songs are clearly yours to reuse; ElevenMusic keeps covers of uploaded music inside its app.

  • Comparison

Suno vs Udio: which is better in 2026, pricing and downloads

Suno is the pick for anyone who needs the audio: paid plans download 20 or 60 songs a month with commercial rights, and v6 leads Artificial Analysis's blind tests. Udio suits only people who make songs for fun inside its app, because it has blocked downloads since October 29, 2025 and owns every song made there.

  • Comparison

Mureka vs Suno: which AI music generator is better in 2026

Mureka and Suno both charge 10 USD a month, but Suno v6 ranks first in Artificial Analysis's blind listening test while Mureka V9.5 is third. Choose Mureka for uncapped downloads, stems and MIDI, a self-serve API or a Chinese service; choose Suno for the best-rated sound and licences from Warner, BMG and Believe.
