Best video generation AI tools and models

Published Updated

Video generation tools make short clips from a text prompt or a starting image. This list gathers the ones GenGrades has written up, each page with its prices, limits and sourced facts.

The ranking

Every tool and model we have graded for video generation, best total first.

  1. Higgsfield AI is a paid web platform from Higgsfield Inc. that runs more than 30 image and video models from other companies, including Veo 3.1, Kling 3.0 and Seedance, beside its own tools, with a limited free tier and paid credit plans from US$19 a month. In February 2026 it drew public complaints over 'unlimited' plans and creator payouts.

    Best for:
Creators who want to try several video models without paying each maker separately; Social media and ad teams making short clips, UGC-style ads and product videos
    Biggest weakness:
Credits run out quickly on premium models.

  2. Kling 4.0 is Kuaishou's video model for clips of up to 30 seconds with stereo sound in one generation, fully released on Kling AI on October 15, 2026. Public tests credit its long takes, camera moves and lip sync; it is slow, adds details nobody asked for, garbles on-screen text and has no public leaderboard score yet.

    Best for:
Short-drama and ad makers who need one-person dialogue scenes, including in Chinese dialects; Filmmakers who plan a shot with keyframes and want it as one 30-second take
    Biggest weakness:
    Slow to generate.
