What Higgsfield AI is

In one or two sentences, before anything else.

Higgsfield AI is a paid web platform from Higgsfield Inc. that runs more than 30 image and video models from other companies, including Veo 3.1, Kling 3.0 and Seedance, beside its own tools, with a limited free tier and paid credit plans from US$19 a month. In February 2026 it drew public complaints over 'unlimited' plans and creator payouts.

Main features

What it can do, one sentence each, and whether we actually tested it.

  • Other companies' models in one place

Runs 30+ models, including Veo 3.1, Kling 3.0, Seedance 2.5, Wan 3.0, Hailuo 2.3, Grok Video, Nano Banana Pro, Seedream and FLUX.2, from one account and credit balance.

Model list from Higgsfield's homepage and pricing page, checked October 18, 2026. Sora 2 left the lineup after OpenAI shut the Sora 2 API on September 24, 2026.

  • Cinema Studio

Higgsfield's own scene tool with genre, style, lens and camera settings, multi-shot clips and sound; version 4.0 is current on its site.

    Unite.AI tested version 3.5 in April 2026.

  • Higgsfield's own models

Soul 2.0 for images, DoP for video, Genjutsu for motion transfer and element swaps, and Speak 2.0 for lip sync sit beside the hosted models.

  • Per-model credit pricing

About 7 credits for 5 seconds of Kling 3.0 at 720p, about 40 for 4 seconds of Veo 3.1 at 1080p, and 2 per Nano Banana Pro image.

Higgsfield's own estimates on its pricing page.

  • Time-limited unlimited models

Plus and Ultra include 7 days of unlimited use on selected models such as Wan 3.0 and Nano Banana 2; Business plans get 30 days of unlimited Seedance 2.5.

The pricing page says unlimited use may be slowed at peak times.

  • Team workspaces

Business plans share one workspace and credit pool across 2 to 15 seats, up to 37,500 credits a month, with admin spending controls and SSO.

  • API, MCP and an agent

A developer API at open.higgsfield.ai prices models per second of video or per image; MCP connectors work with Claude and ChatGPT; a Supercomputer agent is, per Higgsfield, powered by GPT-6 Astra.

Free generations included in plans do not apply in MCP/CLI, Canvas or Supercomputer, per the pricing page.

Who it is for

The people it helps and the problems it solves, and where it ranks.

Built for

  • Creators who want to try several video models without paying each maker separately
  • Social media and ad teams making short clips, UGC-style ads and product videos
  • Agencies and small teams that need a shared workspace and credit pool
  • Developers who want several video models behind one API

Problems it solves

  • Comparing Veo 3.1, Kling, Seedance and Wan on the same idea without four subscriptions
  • Getting camera, lens and style control over AI clips without long prompts
  • Estimating a month of video costs when every model prices differently
  • Making talking-avatar, lip-sync and motion-transfer clips for ads

What it is good at

Public tests other people ran: what they gave it and how it did.

  1. Case 1

In Unite.AI's April 2026 review, Janine Heinrichs ran one detailed prompt through Higgsfield's Cinema Studio 3.5

    Input

A cinematic close-up of a cyberpunk street vendor pouring glowing blue tea into a glass; Noir genre, anamorphic 35mm lens at f/1.4, 8 seconds, 1080p, 16:9, two clips, audio on (192 credits).

    What happened

One clip finished in about two minutes with three shots that followed the prompt, with convincing skin, lighting and sound. The other was blocked as possibly protected content and its credits were refunded. This tests Higgsfield's own tool, not the hosted models.

  2. Case 2

In Hack'celeration's 30-day test (2026 edition), Romain Cochard used the then Ultimate plan; the agency also sells Higgsfield services

    Input

15 finished videos in Cinema Studio, 8 upscales, 4 lip-sync character animations and an API trial, with Sora 2, Veo 3.1 and Higgsfield DoP: 1,180 credits in all.

    What happened

Features scored 4.2 out of 5, value for money 2.8 and the platform 3.6 overall. Sora 2 needed three regenerations for wrong framing and color shifts, a Veo 3.1 clip with sound could take 70+ credits, 200+ credits were wasted, and support emails took 36 to 48 hours.

  3. Case 3

Rating the hosted models themselves: Artificial Analysis's text-to-video arena, which scores models wherever they run

    Input

Blind pairwise votes on text-to-video clips from Wan 3.0, Seedance 2.5, Kling 3.0, Veo 3.1 and other models (leaderboard checked October 17, 2026).

    What happened

Wan 3.0 leads at 1174 Elo, Seedance 2.5 is third at 1160, Kling 3.0 1080p (Pro) sits at 1000 and Veo 3.1 at 968; Sora 2 is not on the board. The ranking rates the models, not Higgsfield, which resells access to them.

Where it falls short

What it does badly, with the evidence, and what we could not settle.

Weak

Weak

  • Credits run out quickly on premium models.

Evidence: By Higgsfield's own table, Plus (1,200 credits, US$59 a month) covers about 30 four-second Veo 3.1 clips at 1080p. Hack'celeration scored value for money 2.8 out of 5 and counted 200+ wasted credits; Unite.AI lists credit cost as a con.

  • Unlimited is limited.

Evidence: Unlimited use lasts 7 days on selected models for Plus and Ultra and may be slowed at peak times, per the pricing page. In February 2026 users complained that unlimited generation slowed down; Higgsfield blamed demand and bots (Qazinform).

  • Refunds are narrow and credits expire.

Evidence: The terms allow refund requests only within 7 days of the first purchase and never on renewals; subscription credits expire each billing period and add-on credits after 90 days. Trustpilot reviewers report unexpected renewals.

  • Uploads and outputs may train Higgsfield's models.

Evidence: Section 4.4 of the terms updated July 26, 2026 lets Higgsfield train on your content, inputs and outputs until you delete them; enterprise agreements are excluded.

  • People who mostly use one model should not start here.

Evidence: No Film School reported users paying more per generation than subscribing to each model directly, and Runway and OpenArt also host Kling and Seedance.

Uncertain

Uncertain

  • Cost against buying a model from its maker.

Why unsure: No public test has run the same prompts through Higgsfield and a maker's own app and compared the cost per finished clip.

  • Marketing and creator-payout practices.

Why unsure: Qazinform and No Film School reported delayed payouts, deepfake promo clips and an X suspension in February 2026; Higgsfield disputed parts, called it a coordinated campaign and admitted some marketing may have been too aggressive. We found no later reporting either way.

  • How fast new model versions arrive.

Why unsure: On October 17, 2026 kling.ai advertised Kling 4.0, while Higgsfield's pricing page listed Kling models only up to 3.0.

Common questions

Answer first, then why, an example, the limits and what to do next.

What is Higgsfield AI?

Higgsfield AI is a paid web platform that runs other companies' video and image models, such as Veo 3.1, Kling 3.0 and Seedance, alongside its own tools. You buy one monthly credit plan and spend credits per generation at a rate set for each model; Higgsfield also sells API access to many of the same models.

Is Higgsfield AI free?

Higgsfield AI has a free tier, listed as 'Limited use' in its plan comparison on October 18, 2026: one job at a time, no monthly credits stated, and models such as Seedance 2.0 not included. The cheapest paid plan, Starter, costs US$19 a month for 270 credits, which Higgsfield estimates at about 15 Seedance 2.0 Fast videos or 135 Nano Banana Pro images.

Limits

The pricing page does not say what the free tier includes beyond one job at a time.

Is Higgsfield AI legit or a scam?

Higgsfield AI is a working paid service, but its marketing and billing have drawn credible complaints. In February 2026 No Film School and Qazinform reported unlimited plans that slowed down, delayed creator payouts and promo clips with deepfakes of public figures; Higgsfield blamed fraud and bots, said it refunded affected users, and no lawsuit has been reported.

Is Higgsfield's unlimited plan really unlimited?

Higgsfield's unlimited offers are limited in time, models and speed. On the pricing page Plus and Ultra get 7 days of unlimited use on selected models such as Wan 3.0 and Nano Banana 2, Business plans get 30 days of unlimited Seedance 2.5, and unlimited use may be slowed at peak times.

Does Higgsfield use my uploads to train its AI?

Higgsfield's terms allow it to train its models on your content, inputs and outputs. Section 4.4 of the terms updated July 26, 2026 says deleting your content or account stops future use and enterprise customers on separate agreements are excluded; Higgsfield claims no ownership of your outputs.

Higgsfield vs Kling, Runway or OpenArt: which should I use?

Choose Higgsfield or OpenArt to try many makers' models under one plan, Kling's own app to use Kling models from their maker, and Runway for its own Gen-4.5 model with a free trial. Runway gives 125 free one-time credits and starts at US$15 a month, OpenArt starts at US$14 for 4,000 credits, and Higgsfield at US$19 for 270 credits.

Why

No Film School reported users paying more per generation on Higgsfield than subscribing to each model directly; no public test has measured it.

Next step

Credits differ between sites, so run the same prompt on two of them and compare the cost per finished clip.

What the public tests show

This page uses what could be checked on October 17, 2026: Higgsfield's own pages and terms, reporting by No Film School and Qazinform, reviews by Unite.AI and Hack'celeration, Artificial Analysis's video leaderboard, and rivals' pricing pages.

According to AICPB's traffic rankings, Higgsfield's website had 42.8 million visits in September 2026, up 27.6% on August: 1st among AI video generators.

What Higgsfield is

Higgsfield AI is a reseller and a studio in one. Higgsfield Inc. of San Francisco, founded in 2023 according to its site, runs other companies' models behind one credit balance and adds its own tools. It claims 30+ models, 40+ tools and 4.5 million video generations a day. Qazinform described it in February 2026 as Kazakhstan's first unicorn, valued above US$1 billion.

A free tier is listed as 'Limited use', with one job at a time and no monthly credits stated. Credit costs differ by model: about 7 for 5 seconds of Kling 3.0 at 720p and about 40 for 4 seconds of Veo 3.1 at 1080p. By that table, the Plus plan buys about 30 four-second Veo 3.1 clips at 1080p.

Unlimited means less than it sounds. Plus and Ultra get 7 days of unlimited use on selected models such as Wan 3.0 and Nano Banana 2, Business plans get 30 days of unlimited Seedance 2.5, and the pricing page warns that unlimited use may be slowed at peak times.

The terms (updated July 26, 2026) allow refund requests only within 7 days of the first purchase, never on renewals; subscription credits expire each billing period, add-on credits after 90 days; and uploads and outputs may train Higgsfield's models unless you delete them.

What public tests show

Tests of the platform. Two hands-on reviews exist; both publishers earn from Higgsfield (Unite.AI through affiliate links, Hack'celeration by selling Higgsfield services).

  • Unite.AI, April 2026. One 8-second, 1080p prompt in Cinema Studio 3.5, two clips, cost 192 credits. One clip came back in about two minutes, multi-shot and on prompt; the other was blocked as possibly protected content and its credits refunded.
  • Hack'celeration, 2026 edition. 30 days, 15 finished videos and 1,180 credits on the then Ultimate plan. Features scored 4.2 out of 5 and value for money 2.8. Sora 2 needed three regenerations, and the tester counted 200+ wasted credits.

Tests of the models it hosts. These rate the models, not Higgsfield. On Artificial Analysis's text-to-video leaderboard, Wan 3.0 leads at 1174 Elo, Seedance 2.5 is third at 1160, Kling 3.0 1080p (Pro) sits at 1000 and Veo 3.1 at 968; Sora 2 is not on the board.

The February 2026 backlash

On February 11, 2026, No Film School reported that Higgsfield's X account had been suspended amid complaints that unlimited plans were not unlimited, that some users paid more than subscribing to each model directly, and that creators' work had been reused. On February 13, Qazinform added delayed payouts in the creator Earn program and promo videos with deepfakes of public figures. Higgsfield blamed fraud, bots and a coordinated campaign and said it refunded affected users; CEO Alex Mashrabov said rapid scaling had opened gaps between its values and its internal processes. No lawsuit has been reported. On Trustpilot it holds 4.0 from 5,051 reviews, 18% of them one-star.

Who should wait

  • People who mostly use one model: its maker, or a site that bundles it, may cost less.
  • Anyone handling client footage that must stay private: uploads can be used for training.
  • Buyers who need refunds on renewals: the terms exclude them.

  • Comparison

Kie.ai vs Higgsfield: API or studio for Veo, Kling, Seedance

Kie.ai is a pay-per-call API for developers who want Veo 3.1, Kling, Seedance and other models behind one key, with credits that never expire. Higgsfield is a subscription web studio for creators and teams, with a separate API that undercuts Kie.ai on some models, such as Kling 3.0.

  • Model review

    Kling 4.0

Kling 4.0 is Kuaishou's video model for clips of up to 30 seconds with stereo sound in one generation, fully released on Kling AI on October 15, 2026. Public tests credit its long takes, camera moves and lip sync; it is slow, adds details nobody asked for, garbles on-screen text and has no public leaderboard score yet.
